WHAT IS PERMANENT MAKEUP?

Permanent cosmetics, also known as micro pigmentation, are a form of tattooing used to enhance facial features and as a finishing touch to surgical procedures.  Modern permanent cosmetics are fairly recent, but the art dates back to ancient Egypt.  Over the last decade, the industry has grown rapidly in popularity.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES?

If you would like to be free of applying, reapplying, or checking your make-up, this is for you.  Permanent make-up will allow you to look your most beautiful, by enhancing the natural shape of your brows, eyes, and lips.  It can even enhance your cheek color and bring back that youthful glow.  You can look as natural or as dramatic as you wish.   The enhancement always brings out the beauty you were born to be.  Permanent make-up allows you to start each new day looking your best.  Because it is permanent, you can face each moment knowing you've got the basics covered.  You can enjoy swimming, traveling, or just being on the go without the worry of checking your makeup.  If you struggle with poor eyesight or unsteady hands, this can be your solution.  You can always add make-up for a more dramatic look, changing color to suit your moods.  Then again, you may never apply make-up again.  It's all up to you!

IS IT REALLY PERMANENT?
Pigment is effectively deposited (or tattooed) in the dermal layer of the skin, enhancing your lip color and shape, brows or eyeliner.  Once you have received your final application, your permanent make-up will not smear, flake or wash off.   As with any tattoo, fading does occur over time due to many factors such as skin care, the products you use, your lifestyle, and exposure to the environment.  Many women wish to have a "refresher" touchup in a few years to brighten the existing color.

WHAT IS THE APPLICATION PROCESS?

My training includes the Machine and Hand Method of application; however, my preference, through experience, is to use the Hand Method.   All permanent cosmetic procedures require two separate sessions.  The foundation is laid in during the initial session, and the perfecting and finishing touches are added during the final session.  Both sessions are included in your initial fee.  Up-keep visits to refresh, enhance or reapply after one year will be charged according to the work required.

IS THERE ANY PAIN OR RISK?

The most frequently asked question is "HOW PAINFULL WILL IT BE"?  I can assure you that the Hand Method for applications is the lease painful method available today.  We all have different pain tolerances.  I use several different, and very effective, topical anesthetics before and during the entire procedure, insuring your comfort.   Any serious health issue that may affect your procedure will be discussed in depth during your consultation.  Common concerns associated with any break in the skin require precaution.  The area being treated must be kept clean and medicated for the first few days, until the healing process is complete. Swelling and discoloration may occur, but is usually minimal.  Most clients can continue their day as usual after a procedure.

DO I NEED A CONSULTATION?

A complimentary consultation is REQUIRED prior to any procedure and available to anyone wishing more detailed information.  This allows time to assess your personal needs and any health issues that could affect your procedure.  We will work together on color and shape planning perfect results.   I am happy to share my background in education, experience, and portfolio with you, and discuss the health and safety standards I practice.  I look forward to answering all of the questions you may have and provide you with as much information as possible, to help you make an informed decision while considering Permanent Cosmetics.
